This position is remote/work from home. Candidates must be available to travel to Rochester, NY up to (4) times per year.
As a Technical Services Systems Engineer with Wegmans, you will configure and maintain software, as well as support the daily operational processes on various IT computer platforms and operating systems. You will collaborate with various internal and external partners to identify and remedy problems and assist with the design of application hardware architecture.
What will I do?
- Install and maintain all Server software, system utilities, applications and network software on Server platforms
- Perform duties of Microsoft Windows Server including Hyper-V, and VMware systems administration
- Assess, define, and document the technical architecture of the server environment including physical and virtual host/server components, their functionality, and integration points
- Perform monitor, tune, and capacity planning of all supported systems
- Document problems and procedures to help support continuous improvement
- Participate in off-hours project support updates
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to provide support for server environment
Required Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of Systems Engineering work experience
- Experience with Server Operating Systems including Windows Server and Red Hat Linux
- Knowledge of systems security practices and principles
- Experience with Microsoft O365 Administration, VMware and Hyper-V Virtualization Administration & IIS Administration
- Experience with Microsoft Message Queuing, Failover Clustering, System Center Suite, PowerShell, awk and sed
- Experience with Active Directory Services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, GPO, ADFS
- Strong Technical Problem Solving Skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
- Experience w/ SQL Server database administration, SharePoint, .NET framework, Orchestrator, Unified Messaging, & Azure
- Experience with Dell Blade Systems , VMware Site Recovery Manager, Operations Manager, Centrify DirectAuthorize/ DirectAudit and View/Horizons
- Experience w/ Symantec Storage Foundation/Veritas Cluster Server, Netbackup, F5-Big IP LTM/ GTM, SAN/NAS technology
- Experience with BMC ITSM suite
