As a Senior Database Administrator at Wegmans, you will partner closely with the project team to design and deploy database solutions, and ensure all databases are constantly monitored and supported to meet business needs. You will be responsible for achieving results surrounding installation, capacity planning, design, migrations, performance monitoring, security, recovery and backup.
What will I do?
- Provide 24x7 hour support as part of an on-call rotation for critical systems; work with various support teams to provide prompt problem determination and resolution; train and mentor Database Administrators
- Troubleshoot issues and provide support to IT development; optimize application and database performance
- Perform recovery and backup of database servers, distributed server backup for single instances, and entire data center disaster recovery
- Install, configure, manage, support, upgrade and tune Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Liaison and coordinate support of external vendors; schedule and perform software patching for Exadata and ODA
- Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
- Collaborate with other technical services resources, IT development, IT operations, end users, vendors as well as other contracted resources to achieve results
Required Qualifications:
- 3 or more years’ experience with Oracle RDBMS and SQL Server RDBMS supporting critical applications
- Experience with all aspects of database administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, migration, capacity planning, performance tuning, backup and recovery
- Experience performing application database administration services including SQL code reviews, performance analysis, query tuning and database application design
- Experience implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions
- Experience with database security and regulatory compliance concepts and tools including auditing, and encryption
- Experience with Oracle 12c or 19c RAC and multitenant support
- Experience with 2019 SSIS and SSRS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology
- Experience with PowerShell, shell scripting, and automating Database tasks
