As a Data Architect within the Wegmans IT Department, you will lead a team of data engineers in providing consistent, reliable and sustainable data solutions for use across all areas of the company. You will influence data management processes that result in highly accurate and trusted assets for use by stakeholders across the company to ensure investments are centered on optimizing clearly defined and quantified business outcomes.

What will I do?

  • Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex data systems and solutions
  • Establish standards, processes and tools for data strategy, data life cycle, data ownership, data definition and data classification to be used across the organization; Define the process to resolve cross-organizational data management issues
  • Develop conceptual and logical data models in a variety of storage types including by not limited to data lakes, data warehouses, and graph databases that support data analysis and business intelligence
  • Manage relationships with project teams using/ implementing data and meta-data management processes
  • Work with IT teams, business analysts, and data analytics teams to understand and develop solutions for data consumers’ needs
  • Develop enterprise data management methodology and standards, and promote to both technology and business users throughout the company
  • Establish measures to chart progress related to completeness and quality of data and meta-data for enterprise information, to support reduction of data redundancy and fragmentation, elimination of unnecessary movement of data, and improvement of data quality
  • Participate in Data Governance Process to ensure standards are being followed by the team

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 7 or more years’ experience architecting data-driven solutions
  • Experience leading full lifecycle, large, complex reporting or data engineering efforts
  • Skills in Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Quality and Data Lineage

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field
