Kick off Your Career in 2018

Now that 2018 is in full gear, it’s not too late to set some New Year’s goals for yourself. Whether you made the resolution to improve your diet and eat more veggies, spend a little less time binge watching your favorite critically-acclaimed TV shows, or focus on setting career goals for the year, 2018 is sure to be a year of personal growth. And at Wegmans, our team members are eager and determined to make this year their best one yet.

We spoke with two of our hardworking employees about what they look forward to most with the new year, and the exciting career goals they hope to achieve in 2018. What led you to join the Wegmans family?

I loved the family feel of the company, the great reputation and the stories I had heard. I also love food and there is no better company to work for if you love food!

 

What is a career-related resolution you’ve set for yourself for 2018?

I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge in a new area of store operations, so that I can continue to learn and grow!

 

How does Wegmans empower you within your career, so that you can achieve these goals?

Everyone is really good about helping me with my development and assisting me on the path to success!

 

What are you most excited for with the new year?

I am always excited for a fresh start to the year and for the change that comes with a New Year!

What led you to join the Wegmans family?

I had a background in grocery with Whole Foods Market in Colorado. I decided to move back to Pittsford, my hometown, and wanted to work for the #1 grocery store.

 

What is a career-related resolution you’ve set for yourself for 2018?

I hope to learn as much as possible with back-of-the-house administrative duties.

 

How does Wegmans empower you within your career, so that you can achieve these goals?

Wegmans has great leadership. I feel that my team members Jesse and Becca are giving me the tools to help me succeed at Wegmans.

 

What are you most excited for with the new year?

I’m most excited about becoming a full-time employee and enriching my knowledge in cheese, management and administration.
